Our six campuses are located in some of the most unique metropolitan areas in the country.
BASIS Independent Brooklyn
Located in the Red Hook neighborhood of Brooklyn, BASIS Independent Brooklyn is a vibrant school community in a setting that fuels discovery and connectivity between students, teachers, and ideas. The campus opened its doors in the fall of 2014 as part of the bi-coastal inaugural year of BASIS Independent Schools. More than doubling its enrollment in its second year of operation, the school represents the diverse tapestry of booming Brooklyn. Located in a 100,000 square foot purpose-built modular construction, the PreK–grade 12 school draws students interested in an accelerated liberal arts and sciences curriculum from all over New York City.
BASIS Independent Silicon Valley
BASIS Independent Silicon Valley was one of the founding schools in our family of independent schools, quickly establishing some of the very best college preparatory programs in the nation. The campus opened in the fall of 2014 as part of our bi-coastal inaugural year, and serves students in grades 5–12. Located in downtown San Jose, BASIS Independent Silicon Valley is a reflection of the innovation that defines the Silicon Valley region—it was both one of our first independent school campuses to reach maximum student enrollment, as well as the first to have a graduating class.
BASIS Independent McLean
BASIS Independent McLean opened in the fall of 2016 to serve students in PreK–grade 12 in the emerging Tysons area in Northern Virginia. Our 11-acre campus is located in Tysons Corner in Fairfax County, Northern Virginia, less than 15 miles outside of Washington D.C., giving students and teachers easy access to all of the cultural offerings of our nation’s capital. Designed with our content-rich, interactive curriculum in mind, the campus features specially-outfitted classrooms and wings for the sciences, performing arts, early learning classrooms, and more. BASIS Independent McLean continues to build interest in advanced liberal arts and STEM education in a community with a long-standing tradition of academic excellence.
BASIS Independent Fremont (Lower School)
BASIS Independent Fremont opened in 2016 as the fourth campus in our family of independent schools. Our campus is located in the southeast San Francisco Bay Area, and was thoughtfully fitted to serve the needs of our world-acclaimed program in a Transitional Kindergarten–grade 5 setting. Whether through our classrooms filled with natural light, our outdoor space, or our gymnasium, BASIS Independent Fremont offers plenty of opportunities for students to discover their passions in and out of the classroom.
BASIS Independent Manhattan
BASIS Independent Manhattan serves students in PreK–grade 8 and was the fifth campus to join the family of independent schools in the fall of 2017. From our gymnasium to our rooftop playground and garden, every corner of our 45,000 square foot facility was carefully considered in the pursuit of creating a space suited for student learning and growth. BASIS Independent Manhattan is located in the heart of the Upper West Side, near Central Park as well as several notable museums, which we utilize for field trips and other academic opportunities to take in the rich history and culture of New York City. In its first year of operation, our Manhattan campus ranked the highest in student retention across the BASIS Curriculum Schools network.
BASIS Independent Fremont (Upper School)
BASIS Independent Fremont Upper School’s campus opened in 2019 to serve students in grades 6 – 12. Just a short distance from the Lower School campus, the new Upper School campus allows students the freedom to pursue their passions in and out of the classroom.
